Our farm, called Blackwattle, is an easy 25 minute drive from Canberra, and is run by us, Angela and Matthew Smith. We are located in Murrumbateman, NSW and our farm is named after the black wattle trees growing across our property. As a working alpaca farm, running a herd of 60 alpacas, mainly breeding females, we focus our breeding program on the advancement breed standard. Our Farm Shop is located within our new Blackwattle HG, where Angela works – hand dyeing the yarn and fibre and is open to visitors 10am to 4pm Thursday through to Sunday. We also have a cafe on site catering for morning and afternoon tea, light refreshments and for small private functions.
