This is a Free Point of Interest. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
The original Helensburg tunnel was built 1888 opened Jan 1st 1889. It is 624m long. Tunnels and the Station was closed in 1915 to simplify the Illawarra line; a new station and tunnels were built creating the current line. Glow worms can be found about 100m into the tunnel.
