Buymarr Getaways
Description
Buymarr Getaways is a Yolŋu owned and operated tourism business offering high quality recreational areas and authentic cultural experiences at Buymarr homeland in East Arnhem Land. Buymarr is a small community located approximately 90 kilometres from the township of Nhulunbuy (Gove) in the Northern Territory. Buymarr homeland is located on the traditional lands and waters of the Wangurri people and situated on the East Arnhem coastline, offering views over pristine beaches along the Gulf of Carpentaria.
On guided tours, visitors will be introduced to cultural activities of the homeland, including hunting, spear throwing and making, collecting bushfood, fishing and learning basic Yolŋu Matha, including the names of locations and sites at Buymarr. Our guided sunset tours of Mt Ngarrandarra offer unparalleled views of the homeland and neighbouring areas, and visitors a rare chance to view both sunrise and sunset.
