Punsand Bay Campground
Description
Punsand Bay Campground is a family-owned, off-grid campground located just 5km from the Tip of Australia, offering a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered campsites, beachfront bungalows, air-conditioned cabins, and family cabins. Facilities include three amenity blocks with hot showers and toilets, a swimming pool, guest laundry, licensed bar and restaurant, small camp store, Wi-Fi (for purchase/limited coverage), tour bookings, and pet-friendly camping (sites only). There is no camp kitchen. As a fully self-reliant property generating its own power and water in one of Australia's most remote locations, guests are encouraged to be mindful of water and electricity use. While the amenities may differ from large coastal holiday parks, they are maintained to support travellers in a uniquely remote environment. Camping and accommodation prices reflect the significant cost of transporting supplies, generating utilities, and maintaining facilities at the very top of Cape York. If you're expecting a true remote Australian adventure with modern comforts where possible, Punsand Bay is an ideal base to explore the Tip and surrounding attractions.
