Boobook Explore
Description
Established in 2000 by Craig and Meryl Eddie, Boobook is a nationally recognised industry leader providing on-ground benefits to the environment through the delivery of high quality ecological services along with informative and engaging tours. By working and journeying with us, our clients form a deeper appreciation of the natural environment, taking inspired action that contributes to enhanced on-ground outcomes and overall greater good.
Our Principal Ecologist and Company Director, Craig Eddie, has been referred to as the “David Attenborough” of Queensland’s South West and specialise in trips to little-known National Parks and State Forests, guaranteeing you a unique experience few other will share. Meryl Eddie the Business Manager is the jack of all trades. Whether volunteering within our local community or setting up the charitable not-for-profit Maranoa Wildlife Caring & Education Centre, her knowledge and passion for the town of Roma is evident through everything she does.
When you travel with Boobook Explore you will experience the passion for our town and the region, being regarded as authorities in the natural history of the Carnarvon Ranges, Brigalow Belt, Central Queensland Sandstone Belt and surrounding regions. Travel in small, personalised groups, we will help you to connect with Australia’s real outdoors and discover many of nature’s secrets few have the opportunity to see. We have exclusive access to privately owned biologically rich properties with spectacular scenery and views. Learn about inland Queensland’s unique and wondrous natural ecosystems, lesser known Australian wildlife, pioneering history, and agricultural and coal seam gas industries.
As a business, Boobook is a thriving ecosystem, embracing and enabling diversity, collaboration and freedom, while upholding our strong integrity, trustworthiness and ongoing passion for success. As a result of our work, Southern Inland Queensland is much better understood, with many of its natural attributes recognised as unique and significant natural world wonders. This recognition is supported through our ongoing environmental research, discoveries and management strategies. Our work contributes to the expansion of scientific understanding and good environmental decision-making and enhances the wellbeing of our team, clients and community.
