The Royal Hotel Eromanga
Description
1881 was an important year for Eromanga. Cobb& Co opened up a mail run from Thargomindah and the hotel was built as an overnight change station. Originally known as the Erounghoola Hotel, the name was changed to The Royal in 1895.
Not only is it the pub furthest from the sea, it is also the oldest continuously-open pub in Far SWQ.
Scott Walker, the building's owner for over 20 years, has recently handed over management to locals Laura Josey and Dale Biltoft. They have brought in new menus that rotate regularly. But the pub still retrains its tadditional look and country hospitality.
